Ruth

Ruth Friedman has been approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as both an Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT, License #F.2200286) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, License #C.1902060). She offers couple's counseling for spouses, partners, and/or co-parents and individual counseling for adults (18+). 

 

Ruth Friedman, IMFT, LPC, established Friedman Counseling Services, LLC, to increase Ohioans' access to high-quality and affordable counseling services. Ruth works with residents of the greater Columbus area as well as couples and individuals located across the state of Ohio. Ruth has weekday, evening, and weekend availability. 

Ruth is a graduate of the University of Akron’s master’s program, with dual licensure, in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling. Ruth also has completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy Clinical Training Levels 1, 2, and 3 and has been certified as a Gottman Seven Principles Leader and a Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator

Prior to pursuing a career in couples therapy and individual counseling, Ruth spent 10 years at The Ohio State University, where she served as a career and academic advisor, managed undergraduate programs and K-12 outreach initiatives, and facilitated the publication of an academic journal. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Wellesley College and Northwestern University, respectively. Ruth arrived in Columbus by way of years lived in Houston, Chicago, Boston, and a childhood spent in her hometown of Paris, Texas.

Jack Hambrick, MFT-Trainee

Jack Hambrick has been approved by the State of Ohio as a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee (M.2300355-TRNE). He offers couple's counseling for spouses, partners, and/or co-parents and individual counseling for adults (ages 18+) and teenagers (ages 15+). Jack is enrolled in the University of Akron's graduate degree program in Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to pursuing a career in marriage and family therapy, Jack earned an undergraduate degree in Journalism from West Virginia University and worked in the field of adolescent and children's services. 

Jack provides counseling services through Friedman Counseling Services, LLC, under the supervision of Ruth Friedman, IMFT, LPC (F.2200286; C.1902060).
